On May 28, the 2026 “Six-Zero Green Building Materials Day” series of events, hosted by the China Building Materials Federation, kicked off in Beijing under the theme “Embarking on a New Journey Toward Carbon Neutrality.” The event featured the premiere of a promotional film, the official launch of the “Six-Zero” factory creation initiative within the building materials sector, and the opening of a “Public Open Day” period (running from May 28 to June 6). Through a multi-dimensional approach—combining policy guidance, the cultivation of industry benchmarks, and public outreach—the initiative aims to accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation of the industry and facilitate the implementation of the national “Dual Carbon” strategy.
The event issued a call to the entire industry for green development. Grounded in the realities of industrial transformation and focused on the core objectives of peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality, it urged building materials enterprises to proactively shoulder ecological responsibilities and actively participate in building “Six-Zero” factories. It called for concerted efforts to achieve breakthroughs in core energy-saving and carbon-reduction technologies, replicate and promote advanced green production models, and leverage benchmark enterprises to drive the upgrading of the entire industrial chain, thereby propelling the industry’s zero-carbon development into a new phase.
The series of events showcased green and intelligent production lines, achievements in energy-saving and carbon-reduction technical upgrades, environmental protection facilities, and the results of zero-carbon projects. Through on-site visits and guided tours, the events aimed to shatter public stereotypes regarding the traditional building materials industry, provide a tangible demonstration of green upgrading practices, foster greater understanding and recognition across society, and establish a new image for the industry characterized by green, low-carbon, safe, and high-quality development.
Green and low-carbon development has become the essential path for the transformation and upgrading of the building materials industry. The “Six-Zero Green Building Materials Day” series not only charts a clear, actionable course for zero-carbon development across the sector but also establishes a bridge for communication among the industry, enterprises, and the general public. Moving forward, by leveraging the normalized creation of “Six-Zero” factories and long-term mechanisms for public engagement, the industry will continue to cultivate “green new quality productive forces,” balance industrial growth with ecological protection, and contribute robust industrial strength toward achieving my country’s carbon neutrality goals on schedule.
